AES expands to Virginia by acquiring Automation Equipment Services Group (“AESG”). A strategic acquisition to expand AES’ services and geographic presence throughout the Southeast.

Mount Airy, NC, December 29, 2025. AES, an industrial equipment solutions provider, has acquired a robotic repair company serving the semiconductor industry, Automation Equipment Services Group (“AESG”).

Founded in 1992, AES, is a family-owned and operated company, headquartered in Mount Airy, NC. Our talented team of 120+ employees provide industrial electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical equipment repair, sales of new and used equipment, as well as contract manufacturing and engineering solutions to a global customer base.

The acquisition of Automation Equipment Services Group aligns well with our business model and our current growth strategy. This acquisition will allow AES not only to have a physical presence for our customers in VA, and neighboring areas, but to also strengthen our service offerings. Current clients of AESG will enjoy the benefits of our expanded and talented workforce, diverse service offerings, web-based customer portal, and free regional pick-up and delivery, to name a few. The acquisition will allow AES to begin offering robotic repair services for the semiconductor industry not previously available to our customers. It will also increase the products we can offer to customers of AES while increasing our customer base predominately throughout NJ, TX, CA, MA as well as the United Kingdom, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, and others.

For years, Automation Equipment Services Group has provided high-quality repair services for robots in the semiconductor industry to include brands such as PRI Equipe, Cybeq, Brooks & Kensington Labratories. AESG is a family-owned and operated company, headquartered in Virginia Beach, VA, with 7 team members. Frank and his team have built an incredible business on the foundation of providing high-quality service with a customer-centric focus. We, at AES, plan to continue that same level of customer service and provide high-quality service that customers of AESG have grown to know and love.

Moving forward, we will maintain the existing facility in Virginia Beach, VA and welcome the existing team to AES.
